Congratulations Baby Girl!

Yesterday I got the news I was really hoping for, it's my baby girl's academic achievement. Even though I don't pressure her that much about being on the top list in her class, still I did expect that she'll get a spot. Yes she did!!! And to reward her achievement we celebrated it with a dinner outside early this evening.

We went to this grill that I'm having my eyes on for months already since it's a newly open restaurant. I really wanted to bring my family there and it did happen this evening! We're all full as the food were great. I forgot about my aching tooth for a while, I did enjoy the food and my kids too!

Back Again

Hi, it's been months that I haven't written any posts. I'm quite busy with my online job, I'm working like 50-60 hours a week. What are some of the updates about me? Well, my 4 years old daughter Aliyah Cassandra had her summer dance workshop, ballet, it's not her first time though. She started when she's 3 and I have few problems with her that time. She always cried and wanted me near her all the time. Any way I'll post some pix about that summer workshop.

Last June, she had her first school day!! Hooray!! Thanks to her ballet lessons she didn't shed a tear on her first day of class. Yesterday I found out that she make it to top 15 in her class and I was so happy, there where like 50 kindergarten pupils and so I'm so proud of her.

Enough about my little girl, another update was about my brother-in-law who died last July. My sister was so devastated, they have 3 kids and I know how hard it is for her to be a single mom now. A lot of things happen, good and bad but nothing worst thank GOD!

I'll be back with more of personal things that happen to me, I'll keep it short this time.

Toothache Home Remedies

Ouch my tooth aches and it feels like hell! What are the remedies available at home for tooth ache? Toothaches may be caused by a variety of problems such as dental cavities, exposed tooth rot, a cracked tooth, gum diseases, and so on. Pain from a toothache can vary from mild to severe and from sharp and sporadic pain to dull and persistent.

Mine is a cracked tooth and it feels sharp and it's affecting my right ear. Most of the times I drink pain relievers such as mefenamic and naproxen to ease the pain. Next week , I'll be seeing my dentist to have it check and have it removed if necessary.
While drinking medicines over the counter you may also want to try these toothache home remedies I found over the internet : Toothache Remedies & Relief

1. Cloves in Toothache: Chew cloves or rub clove oil on the tooth. Chew a clove slowly with the aching tooth to release its juice and leave there for half an hour. Repeat 2-3 times. When applying clove oil you should be careful because too much of it can damage your teeth. Your pharmacist can give you a safe clove oil for your teeth.

2. Salt water gargle recipe for sore tooth: Mix 1 tablespoon of common salt with 1 cup of warm water. Take a mouthful of this water and move it around the aching tooth. Salt is an excellent astringent. so salt water disinfects the tooth. You can do gargle with this water to act as a salt water sore throat remedy. It is a good idea to do salt-water gargle in the morning and evening to prevent sore tooth and throat.

3. Garlic in Toothache: Peel and crush a clove of fresh garlic and mix it with peanut butter. Apply it to the aching tooth and keep it there for 5 minutes.
You can also use the garlic oil. Crush a clove of a garlic and wrap with a small piece of gauze and press hard until garlic releases its oil. Place the gauze on the tooth that is hurting for five minutes. Any longer and the garlic will burn the skin on inside of your mouth. Repeat 3-4 times with a gap of an hour.

4. Ice in Toothpain: It is best to numb the nerves in your tooth by using ice or ice pack to stop the pain. Just wrap 4-5 ice cubes in a towel (or take a ice pack) and place it on your face over the side of paining tooth.

5. Add some lime juice to asafetida (hing) spice powder. Soak a piece of cotton and hold it on the tooth and gum.

6. Burn some turmeric (haldi) spice sticks, make a fine powder and use as toothpowder.

7. Chew a ginger piece slowly with the aching tooth/teeth to release its juice and leave there for half an hour. Repeat 2-3 times.

8. Take a papaya leaf stick, scrape the bark, then sqeeze the juice out into the paining tooth. Repeat 2-3 times. After some time, the pain should disappear.

9. Drink the juice of 2-3 star fruit twice a day to get relief from the tooth pain.

10. Boil 5 gram of peppermint and a pinch of salt in 1 cup of water. Drink it to relieve toothache and other pains. You can use peppermint mouthwash.

11. Pour a few drops of Vanilla extract on the paining tooth.

12. Pour a few drops oil of oregano on the paining tooth or gum.

13. Gargle with a mouthwash.

14. Soak a cotton ball with 100 proof whiskey and place it on the tooth that is paining. Leave it there until all the whiskey comes out.

15. To use this treatment, take one real Crush one aspirin tablet and put the powder directly on the affected tooth for half an hour.

You can choose either ways but make sure to see your dentist.

Problems with Bad Breath

What causes bad breath and what can we do to prevent bad breath. Bad breath has been a problem of many both teenagers and adults. We need good oral hygiene as we are not baby's anymore who have angels breath, it's as important as our looks does. Halitosis known as bad breath can affect anyone at any given time. It is such a very embarrassing problem for most people who posses it. Commonly bad breath can be prevented and treated easily, however there are some medical conditions that may also cause bad breath such as Chronic halitosis that may indicate an underlying medical concern that should be addressed by your dentist or medical doctor.

The Food We Eat and Digestion may also be a cause for bad breath as it can adversely affect our breath. Odors from certain spices, onions, garlic, and cabbage may result in halitosis when the suspected food is absorbed into the blood stream after digestion. When the blood has transferred to the lungs, the smell from the food is evident when you exhale. Since digestion comes next to eating, it can be another cause of bad breath. Gasses that are produced during the digestive process may escape through our mouth, giving off the odor it produces. Poor digestion resulting in constipation and bowel disorders can likely contribute to bad breath, resulting from the gasses that are produced during this process.

Another possible cause of bad breath is Dry Mouth or Xerostomia. Xerostomia is a condition that causes a decrease in the production of saliva, resulting in a dry mouth. There are several factors that may cause xerostomia, some of which may need to be treated by your doctor. Saliva is essential in providing lubrication to the mouth to allow for proper chewing and swallowing. It naturally cleanses the mouth and helps to prevent cavities. Having dry mouth causes bad breath since the food particles remain trapped in the mouth to rot and cause the unpleasant smell when you exhale.

Another well known contributor for bad breath is Cigarette Smoking. Smoking is also a major cause of periodontal disease. The smoke produced from a cigarette is inhaled into the lungs, and then exhaled through the nose and mouth. This causes an immediate effect on your breath. The chemicals and residue from the smoke remains in your mouth and airways. Continued use of cigarettes contribute to gum disease, which is a major cause of bad breath.

Long Distance Love Affair; Does It Really Work?

Have you ever been to a relationship where you and the person you dearly love are worlds apart? Have met someone online; fell in love and hoping someday he/she will come to marry you? Do you feel you can always trust your partner that he/she will remain faithful and honest to you?

With today's latest technology; web cams are now available allowing us to see and talk to our love ones even though they're thousands miles away from us. This can help us connect with them and maybe hold on to the relationship, but what about off cam? I'm pretty sure they will hang out with friends and could possibly meet other individuals during a party. Lucky you if your partner truly is in love with you and flirting with others is not one of his/her vices.

Most of the people I knew who succumb into this kind of relationship ended up nothing but heart broken. Only few of my friends lived happily ever after. They are those people lucky enough who's partner really hang on and remain faithful to their love till they meet again and ended up saying "I DO ". When you are involved in this kind of relationship, don't put all your hopes and dreams to the other person so much. Think of the possibilities that he/she may find someone new. He/she in the longer run may change his/her feelings for you. Though you will remain faithful and honest, willing to wait; the other person might not be feeling the same thing about you.

I Need A New Mobile Phone!

As a girl mobile phone is one of my weaknesses. I love to be on top of the latest trends in mobile gadgets. Well it's been a year since I bought my current cell phone the Softbank 920SC. I fell in love with this cell phone the first time I saw it on Softbank's website. I like the style, color, features plus the 5mega pixel camera. This phone is available only in Japan and I have to ask my cousin in JP to buy it for me. Last week I was strolling on the mall with my beloved hubby just looking around until we found ourselves inside this store (forgot the name) and saw the Samsung Jet and Samsung Star WiFi mobile phones.

What I love most with these phones is the wifi connectivity which for me is very essential especially with my type of work where I need to check my emails every now and then. Samsung Star is a lot cheaper than Samsung Jet so I thought I should pick it. My hubby as well needed a new phone and was thinking of buying the Samsung Jet for him since its also favorable for him. They have wifi connectivity in their office allowing him to use his mobile phone and surf the internet. For me, we also have wifi at home therefore I can surf the web with my phone anywhere inside and outside my home as long as it's within the range.

I am contented with Samsung Star but there's this another phone which I am thinking about too, the Nokia ExpressMusic but since my sis-in-law owns one already maybe I have to forget about it. I'm dying to buy the phone already but I can't get any money from my savings, actually I call it "conjugal savings; since me and my husband have been putting money on the same account" my husband wont allow me too. I've been working hard these past few days so I can save money enough to buy the new phone. I'm planning to buy end of this month on our 10th Wedding Anniversary. I'll consider it a gift to myself..LOL

My Fave Miley Song

I'm Just A Girl by Miley Cyrus

Finally
I've been waitin' for this moment
For you to see
The real me
It's been an illusion
I never meant to fool you
I got caught up in a fantasy

I'm just a girl
With a dream that got the best of me
In a world, that believes fame is everything
Got outta touch
With the ones who gave me my wings to fly, to fly

People say, that the world is like a stage
Their so confused, the rules I play
I been away from home for so long
That I, I almost forgot where I belong
Ye-eah

It's so easy to forget what really matters in this life
It's so hard to live with regrets but a promise I will try
To be a better me
From now on
I'm sorry
I didn't mean to do you wrong

You gave me my wings so I can fly, I can fly
Yeah, Yeah
I'm just a girl

Diet Pills - Safe or Not?

My-oh-my....girls are just too conscious of their figure. Every girl I know wants to have a 36-24-36 Vital Statistics. Is that possible to achieve? Well for some girls that isn't hard especially if it's genetically inherited. But for others who are not as lucky enough, they really should work hard for it. Some resort to diet pills but is it safe to take those pills?

I've read a lot of forums about diet pills and even tried it myself. Before taking the pill I tried to research it on the internet, its effectiveness and side effects. Chinese diet pills are the most popular so far. It's affordable and effective. All my life, I never take prohibited drugs but taking the pill seems like I’m high on drugs. I stop using it coz I have strong heart palpitations, I can't breath, I can't eat I just drink a lot of water which I think is good, but the worst of all; I have rashes coming out all over my body. I have history of allergy before and it's fatal. I was sent to the hospital due to allergy. Yes I really did loose weight but it has negative side effects on me.

I was also scared of the comments I've read on the forums saying that diet pills can cause cancer. There was a testimony about her aunt who died of cancer resulting from diet pills intake. I just wasted my money buying the pill since I didn't even consume it all. I gave the remaining pills to my friend. She even consumed 4 more packs of it and now she has a slimmer body. I am afraid for what negative side effects the pill may do to her body. She may not notice it now but we never know what happens in the future.Diet Pills - Safe or Not?

Tin (10th) Wedding Anniversary!

Yes, I'm just 29 years old and my huby is 31 years old but we're having our 10th wedding anniversary this 30th of October! Are we too young to celebrate such anniversary? We married young so obviously we've been through a lot of tough and more tougher times aghhh! We've been blessed with two wonderful kids Yuri (8 yrs old) and Aliyah (3 yrs old). We separated twice for more than three months each but still we're back in each others arms, as they saying goes " LOVE is sweeter the second (or third? LOL) time around". I can say that although we marry at a very young age we are still financially and emotionally okay.

Our anniversary is coming up and of course we have plans about it. I'm thinking of going on a trip all four of us but my MOM said we have to stay at home and celebrate with them...oh I don't know what to do now. Just the other night I was having trouble with my computer and I'm blaming my husband for it. Why? Because I've been telling him that we should buy a new one but he kept on telling me to wait! Computer is very important for me since I work online, without a computer I have no income. So he gave me two choices, either he'll buy me a new computer or spend the money to celebrate our wedding. What ever should i do now?

My Son's Very First Trip

Today I was panicking a bit when I realized that it's past 4pm and my son wasn't able to get home yet after his class. He should be home by 3:45PM since classes end @ 3:30 assuming 15mins of time spent on a little chitchat after class and traveling back home. He's supposed to go home with his older cousin but apparently isn't home too.

I called my sister the mother of his cousin asking if she has any knowledge about the whereabouts of the 2 kids. She said that she failed to inform me that her son asked her permission earlier that he'll be with his classmate and they'll be proceeding on the mall right after classes end. I felt so nervous and thoughts keep running on my mind on the possibilities that either my son has joined his cousin or might still be in school waiting for his cousin. I called my friend who works just outside the school's building if she happened to see my son but she told me she didn't the little bit of panic is now going stronger.

Just right after my conversation on the phone with my friend the gate squeaks and I saw my son coming in. I was so happy seeing him coming in and have welcomed him home the way I never did before. He told me that after getting bored waiting for his cousin at school for a long time he then decided to go home alone. I kept on asking him whether he felt scared and how he got home but he just smiled and told me he's big enough to go home alone. I am so proud of my son's achievement but i still feel he must not be allowed to travel alone. I decided to buy him a cellphone so I can contact him anytime he comes home late.

Thank God I Found "oDesk"

Early last year I was in great trouble, so desperate to get a decent job to support my family. Working in a call center was one of the many options I have in mind. The wage is pretty good compared to other jobs. Together with my friends, we walked in and submit our resumes to various Call Centers until we heard about this Canadian Company currently looking for applicants to fill in vacant positions.

I was lucky enough to pass the interview and undergo several weeks of thorough training. During the training, we did a lot of online research, data entry, telemarketing and other administrative task. I kinda like it there, so challenging for me to speak English most of the time. I excelled and stayed at the top among my colleagues, my manager and the Canadian owner was impressed with my work.

I have this feeling of pursuing the job but still I'm hoping to find another opportunity of working at home over the internet. I saw this website “www.oDesk.com” and was a little hesitant thinking that there's a lot of scams popping out in the internet but I gambled and took the chance. It was Sunday; I made my profile, took some tests and applied for a job. The following day I got an email for my very first job interview and wow it was faster than I thought.

I feel so blessed that I got my very first job after that interview. The buyer said that he liked me most among other hundreds of applicants because I'm a "God Fearing Person" which I wrote in my resume. He is a Christian like me and that moment I realized that God really was the way, He helped me. I did my best shot on that very first assignment and right after the assignment ended, 3 large projects was given to me.

I didn’t have any second thoughts of leaving the Canadian company though I am very thankful to them. It was my experience with them that gave me the will and confidence to work as a freelancer. I doubted oDesk first due to the delay of my debit card (where I get my salary) and did some research about the website. I talk to some old providers and they assured me that I'll get paid. The moment I got my debit card...ahhh such a big sigh of relief =).

After working for more than a year now as a Virtual Assistant in oDesk, I got the greatest and coolest news I never thought of. Friday, 2nd day of October 2009, I received an email from oDesk that among 250,000 plus providers all over the world , I am one of the TOP 25 VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS for the month of September! Awesome Feeling isn't it? That is where I got my badge “oDesk Top Virtual Assistant”.

With oDesk, I got the chance to work comfortably at home with my kids just around me, having more than enough resources to feed my family and the chance to have a little luxury in life. I believe that GOD heard my prayers of having a job without me going out of the country leaving my family again to look for greener pasture. oDesk dramatically changed my life. Now my sister and some of my friends whom I shared my success has their own piece of story to tell about oDesk too, for they are as well working in oDesk.

Philippines Amidst Calamity

Hey guys, we all know our country Philippines was so much devastated by Bagyong Ondoy (Tropical Storm Ketsana) which took place last Saturday, September 26, 2009. The storm which all people thought as just another ordinary one turned out to be massive and deadly. Clearly most of the victims were unprepared for its coming. Water level reached up to two storeys high.
I was so blessed to live in a place where we don't experience the same calamities that other places in the Philippines does. As of the latest toll there were 240 people who died, many more were still missing while nearly 380,000 people have sought shelter in relief centers. Watching the news on the television broke my heart knowing that so many children in their young lives have unfortunately gone through this kind of horror.

Amidst this catastrophe, we as Filipinos proved that we really have the heart to give and offer help to our Kababayans in any we can. It’s just so sad to know that private sectors seem to be more responsive in giving the victims relief assistance than our government itself. There are some people who even took advantage of this despicable situation. Bagyong Ondoy showed us that a calamity doesn’t choose to affect common people only but even the affluent ones.
God bless those people who have done heroic acts to save lives of other people despite the danger they were facing and knowing the possibilities that doing such thing may also cause their end. Those people who died during rescue operations must be given honor for their bravery. In times like this, true friends are there to help us.

What could have been done to eliminate so much damage on the affected Greater Manila areas? Is this a sign of "Global Warming"? Another Storm (Tropical Storm Parma) was said to hit the Philippines about 800 miles (1,280 kilometers) southeast of the Philippines late Tuesday. Let be Bagyong Ondoy be a thing of the past and let it not happen again. Let's all pray for the safety of our family, our friends and all our people.

Hannah Montana Fanatic

It's kind of embarrassing to admit that at my age, I'm so hooked with "Hannah Montana" LOL. It started with just a glance of some episodes while my kids are watching it on Disney Channel. I haven't really focused before not until I manage to watch a full episode. It’s really funny plus the fact that at the end of every episode there’s a lesson to be learned.

The series focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus) by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night, concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family.

I’ve seen most of the episodes from Seasons 1-3. My children specially my 9 year old son almost memorize the scripts of every character in the TV series and my 3 year old daughter is starting to memorize it too. I bought a DVD of Hannah Montana which is played everyday over and over again.

At first, I was only following the series, but now, I’m also following even the updates of their real lives specially Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment. I have learned that Miley and Nick of Jonas Bros where once lovers but broke up on 2007 December, Miley got a new boyfriend Justin Gaston who appeared on Taylor Swifts Music video of “Love Story”. Miley and Gaston Broke up after Nick and Miley’s reconnection that took place during the Kids Inauguration this 2009 and was humored to be back on each other’s arms when spotted jet skiing in Tybee Island, GA where Miley was shooting her latest movie.

See, I’m really into them hahaha…..I’m even following them on twitter LOL. Recently, I’ve been busy and got no time to read but hopefully I’ll be able to make it up on new gossips about them hahaha.
